This is a serious shala: English for TTC, prior Ashtanga practice recommended for teacher training. Read recent reviews on TripAdvisor before you apply.
A rigorous 200-hour Ashtanga teacher training for practitioners who want real personal attention — not a certificate factory.
Daily Ashtanga Vinyasa, hands-on adjustment, anatomy, pranayama, philosophy and supervised teaching practice — held in a deliberately small group.
You will not disappear into a crowded room. Your practice, questions and teaching voice receive direct attention from experienced teachers.
Three weeks of daily practice, study and supervised teaching at our shala in Chalong, Phuket, Thailand.
TAYSP offers a 200-hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training Course (TTC). Over three weeks, students gain detailed knowledge of all aspects of teaching both beginner and experienced yoga practitioners.
The course includes daily Ashtanga Vinyasa practice, breathing exercises, pranayama, yoga nidra, art of adjustment, methodology and time management, sequencing, workshops (back bends, hip opening, upper body strength, core and more), meditation (dharanas), an introduction to Shatkarmas, the study of ancient yoga texts, Indian philosophy, yoga psychology (practical use of yoga techniques for mental and emotional states), anatomy, yoga therapy and teaching ethics.
The 200 hours of training — practical part and theory — give you the detailed knowledge and practical experience essential both for deepening your own practice and for building a strong foundation for teaching.
We put the emphasis on the practical part. By the end of the course students know posture alignment, foundations, modifications and adjustments for different body types and levels of practice for most of the Primary Series. We train our students to be comfortable teaching classes and to radiate confidence in their own practice as well as in guiding others.
To ensure the quality of the training we accept no more than five students per course.
Places are limited to keep the training personal. Early application is recommended.
Everything connects back to the real work of practising safely, seeing clearly and guiding another person with confidence.
Daily Mysore and Led practice, breath, bandhas, alignment and modifications.
Safe hands-on support, observation, correction, communication and teaching ethics.
Functional anatomy and practical yoga-therapy principles for different bodies.
Breathing techniques, energetic foundations and how to introduce them responsibly.
Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Bhagavad Gita and classical concepts made useful.
Sequence, teach, receive feedback and develop a clear, grounded teaching presence.
By the end of the course, students understand posture alignment, foundations, modifications and safe adjustments for different body types and levels across most of the Primary Series.
You will create and teach classes for different timeframes and levels, practise correction and adjustment, and develop the confidence to guide others from a strong personal practice.
A complete day of practice, methodology, theory and guided teaching study, with optional meals.
You do not need to arrive as an advanced practitioner. You do need commitment, curiosity and the willingness to participate fully.
Students who complete the required hours, attendance and assessments receive the TAYSP 200-hour teacher training certificate. The programme is registered with Yoga Alliance, supporting graduates who wish to continue toward professional teaching registration. Graduates also receive a certificate of attendance for the basic anatomy course.
Each graduate can apply for registration with Yoga Alliance. The anatomy certificate confirms course attendance and a basic knowledge of human body structure and function; it does not certify any medical activity.
The atmosphere is serious without being impersonal: close observation, direct feedback and room to ask real questions.

Students may add an accommodation package at WOW Phuket, a relaxed nearby hotel with private rooms, an outdoor pool and the essentials needed between long training days.
The hotel is close to Chalong Temple and Chalong Pier, with Phuket Town, beaches and local cafés within easy reach.
The tuition price stays clear and separate. Accommodation and meals are optional: arrange them independently or ask TAYSP to organise them for you.
You stay in control: choose only the TTC, add accommodation, add meals, or organise both independently. Checkout uses secure server-side USD→THB conversion and Stripe Adaptive Pricing for supported buyer currencies.
Clear, simple terms — so you can plan your training with confidence.
